The Russian Agro Industrial Festival/ Exhibition “Golden Autumn” took place from the 10th to 13th of October 2018.

One of the key High profile visitors was the Nigerian Minister of Agriculture Rt. Hon. Audu Innocent Ogbeh, who came in with the invitation of his Russian counterpart, to participate in marking the 20th anniversary of the Russia Agro Industrial Festival "Golden Autumn 2018"
The festival showcased the various farm products, livestocks, proccessed food and machineries from the Russian Agricultural sector, demonstrating innovation and technological strength in the sector, as well as export needs of the Russian Agro-allied sector.

Following the visit of Rt. Hon Ogbeh, Ambassador Steve Ugbah organized a closed door reception with the Hon. Minister, in attendance with few Community leaders in persons of Chairman, NIDO Russia, Mr. Rex Essenowo, Nigerian community, Mr. Ejike Chukwumeka, and a few Business Nigeria leaders, at the residence of the Nigerian Ambassador to Russia, At the dinner, the Executive Director of the Russia Nigerian Business council, Mr. Valery Vozdvizhensky was also invited.

        nv,vhhhhh'h'       nhkbbnnnnnm,,  The Minister expressed his admiration to the excellent performance made by the Russian Federation in the industry. Interest in some of the good technology that he saw on display from Russia and the Republic of Belarus, and as well informed us on his earlier meeting with the Russian Minister of Agriculture, where they discussed they need to improve bilateral trade relations because Nigeria has interest in exporting tropical fruits and vegetables to the Russian Federation.
It will be recalled that Russia within a decade has emerged as the world leader in wheat production. In 2017 Russia produced 136 million tons of wheat while the United States produced on 30 million tons within the same period.
Also Russia is on the rise in meat and poultry farming. These are experiences Nigeria can learn from. He promised to relate his assessment of the tour and advice the Nigeria President, Muhamadu Buhari.

He thanked the Nigeria Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Ambassador Steve T. Ugbah, for the impromptu reception, introducing him to a strong Nigerian Diaspora leadership in Russia, which at the meeting informed him about their stay, the state of the community, business experiences and important advices they gave, on how best relationship can be improved with the Russian Federation.
Finally Minister Audu Ogbe promised to encourage his fellow colleagues in the Federal cabinet to visit Russia more often so as to learn more and as well, tap the vast opportunities in Russia for the betterment of Nigeria and her people.

In further development, the members were also on ground to assess the potentials and investment opportunities that emerged from the Golden Autumn Exhibition, Dr. Bashir Obasekola, Miss Medina Umar, Pastor Nnamdi Odumegwu and Dr. Sunday Emenka and Prof. Igho Natufe, who is currently a visiting professor on research with the Institute of African Studies, Russia Academy of Sciences in Moscow.
