The effort to boost the trade and investment relationship between Russian and Nigerian companies got another support today from a formidable actor in the Russian business world. Today, at the premises of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, an agreement was reached that the chamber will co-champion designing the roadmap for Russian companies to do business with their Nigerian counterparts in several fields of interest. Emphasis was laid on the agricultural, pharmaceutical and technological sectors.
Due to the challenges of the contemporary world posed by the covid-19 pandemic, both the Nigeria In Diaspora Organization, Russia (NIDO Russia) and the Moscow Chamber agreed to hold series of matchmaking online conferences that will lead to the improvement of trade and investment relations. The discussions also focused on making use of the knowledge of Nigerians who studied or leave in Russia to assist in facilitating the realization of this goal.
The meeting at the Moscow Chamber was led by the chairman of NIDO Russia, Mr. Uwem Sampson accompanied by the Vice chairman, Mr. Joshua Olasehinde and the immediate past chairman, Mr. Rex Essenewo, while the Moscow Chamber was led by Vice president, Suren Vardanyan, in charge of International and interregional relations, congress and exhibition activities,his special adviser, Ms. Elena Snegova was also in attendance.
